Our Politics.
Voting.
We know how frustrating it can be to be told that voting is the answer to your problems. The reality is this: while voting isn’t an immediate solution to the very real problems we face in the United States, voting does allow us to elect politicians we feel could help our communities the most. Without a doubt, the voting process in the US is broken - but it’s the broken system we currently have, and refusing to participate breaks down democracy even further.
Voting isn’t like dating - you’re not out to find your perfect soulmate. It’s more fitting to compare voting to damage control - you’re picking the candidate you feel is less likely to ruin your life. Super fun and exciting, right?
Candidates.
One of the most common responses we hear in the clinic when we encourage people to vote is “Who do I vote for?” While we can’t vote for you (that is, in fact, illegal), we can give you a list of candidates that we support as abortion providers.
We acknowledge that we’re focused on the South - that’s our home, and it’s what we know best. However, we’re committed to helping everyone we can. We have reached out to other organizations across the country in order to expand this resource list for you. We will continue updating and adding names to the lists up until Election Day.
